My expectation is that you will have 4 or more complete sentences. They will be well written, detailed, spelled correctly and clear in your intention.
I saw your writing proficiency papers, so I know what you are capable of!  Bring it!

Chapter 1, 2 & 3

Compare the way Chip and Jonah.  How do they think, what do they have in common, and how have their adoptions differed?   Use evidence from your text to back up your claims.

Chapters 4 & 5

Why is Chip so stressed and determined?

Chapters 6,7,8

If you were Jonah, what exactly would you be worried about? As these events occurred, would you be "freaking out" like he is or would you be calm and focused?

Chapters 9, 10,11, & 12

There were many strange happenings/moments in these chapters.  Which events do you determine to be the important ones to remember for later on in the book?

Chapters 13 & 14

Stop for a minute.  Process the crazy details so far!  Determine what makes sense to you and what doesn't. Write about it.

Chapters 15 & 16

Explain what Chip and Katherine hope to gain by making all those phone calls. Why is Jonah not helping them?

Chapter 17

In your opinion, what are the risks of 3 children your age, meeting with an adult who is a stranger.  With those risks in mind, why did they do it?

Chapters 18, 19 & 20

What is your opinion on the "time warp" theory.  Do you agree with Katherine or do you have a different theory?

Chapters 21 & 22

What do you think J.B. was protecting them from? What do you think "E" wants with them?

Chapters 23,24,25

What do you think?  Is it a trap? Jonah has that panicked feeling right now, he is ready to act.  What would you do if you were in his shoes?

Chapter 26

"They are coming back to get you." 

Would you be scared? Would you follow them into the cave?  What about Katherine, would you have let her go with you?

Chapter 27

So in this chapter, I was wondering why non of the other kids were suspicious.  Did they not also get the letters Chip and Jonah had received?   Did any of you wonder the same thing?  What else are you wondering?

Chapter 31

What would you choose, the future or the past?  Why?

Chapters 32 & 33

The 15th Century!  Look up the 15th century.  What kind of time period was this?  What should the 4 of them be prepared for?
