Chip is so stressed and determined because he wants to find out who he really is. I know this because in the text, Chip even says, "I just want to know who I really am." Chip was acting like a lunatic, and he was sweating and shaky and even ran into a wall at school, because he was thinking so hard and not paying attention. He was very demanding and did things that would make his parents mad. He broke into his father's safe to look at the papers inside of it. He called the FBI by accident at first, but then when Jonah said not to call again, he almost did. I think that knowing that he is adopted is just a lot to take in and is hard to digest.

Also, Chip was very serious when telling Jonah to open the safe, the way I could tell was when Chip told Jonah "Your in MY house," he said, "I asked you to open the safe." After that Jonah said "But your parents--" "What they want doesn't count," Chip said HARSHLY. Finally, I can tell he is serious because the word "Harshly" implies that he is not screwing around, meaning that he is 100% stern.

This is putting a lot of pressure on him, because his parents never told him this. Either way, he is very determined to open the safe, because it might reveal his origin.
Bryce Adams Chip is so stressed and determined because he want to find out his true identity. He is also so stressed because he just found out that he was adopted. He even said that he just wants to know who he is. He is so determined because he wants to know why he got that post-it. Chip also does want to know where his birth parent are.
Chip is so stressed and determined because he found out he was adopted. He keeps wondering things, including who his parents are and whether or not he could have siblings. For example, in the book it says, "... I kept looking around and thinking I could have a brother or sister in here and I wouldn't even know it." I know Chip is stressed because it mentions him shaking and being nervous a couple of times. I know he's determined because even after Jonah hung up the phone and they found the number was the FBI's, he still wants to call again.
Chip is so stressed and determined because he found out that he was adopted and he wants to know details. He just could not understand why his parents did not tell him. For example he broke into his fathers safe to find more information. He called the FBI and almost did it again after Jonah hung up the phone the first time. He ran into a wall at school because he was so stressed about the situation.
The reason chip is so stressed is because he just learned that he was adopted. Chip is also stressed because he just does not know who he is anymore. I also think he is stressed because his life is just turned upside down. These are the reasons i think chip is stressed.
I can infer that the reson Chip is so stressed and determined is mainly because he feels so far his whole life has been a lie. He seems like he wants more informtion, I think I would be that upset too if my parent had lied for me to that long so I don't blame him. He feels like he doesn't have an identity and he sounds and acts like he feels lost and hopeless according to page 38 where Chip demanded Jonah to open the safe even though his parent obviously didn't want him to see the papers. I can infer he did this because he was so upset and mad with his parents.
Colin Homer Chip is so stressed and determined because he learned that he was adopted and that his parents never told him. That really stresses him out because he just figured that out for the first time. He is so determined to find out more details. For instance he is trying to find out the password so he can get to the adoption papers and find out more details about his adoption.

Although, he is eager to know more about his actual parents, this resulted in him, both, wanting and trying to find more information to clear up the unanswered questions. His buddy Jonah is helping him find clues in which they plan on answering.

He was thinking so hard that he ran into a wall at school. According to the “The Missing Found” the book states “Chip evidently forgot that he was too stressed out to look.” He described himself as living with two strangers.
Chip was stressed because he wants to know who his birth parents are and why they left him for someone else to adopt him. He is also stressed because he wanted to look in the safe to see if it has anything to do with his birth parents or his adoptions. Chip is determined that he would find somebody in his school that is related to him or be his actual siblings. Chip was trying to find someone that looks like him or close to how he looks. Chip was very disappointed when he found out that his parents were actually not his birth parent that he was raised by. Chip wanted to find out who and where his actual birth parents in the safe. Jonah said he would do anything to help Chip find his birth family. When Chip was trying to find someone that looks close to him he started at his school to figure out one by one to see if there is one person that looks similar. Chip was might be wondering when his parents never told him about his adoption he might be wondering what other secrets that his parents have been keeping from him and all the lies, that might be the reason why Chip was in his basement trying to get the information that was inside the safe.
From my reading I know that Chip is stressed because he is adopted. Being adopted wouldn't stress some people out, but he didn't know about how he was adopted until he was thirteen. Because Chip never knew about it, he thought that his adoption parents were his real parents. Not knowing that I was adopted when I was thirteen and then finding out that I was adopted would stress me out too. Chip was determined to find out who his real parents are, so Chip, Katherine, and Jonah tried to find his real parents.
The reason why Chip is so stress and determined is because his just want to learn more about his adoption. It is also the reason why Chip and Jonah look in the safe that was in Chip basement. (The code was Chip birthday - 0919...) But while they look in the safe Jonah found Chip a document labeled birth certificate- Cook County, Illinois and that he got adopted from Happy Family Adoption Agency. Another reason why Chip is determined is because Chip doesn't know if he has a brother or sister that goes to the same school. When Chip walked into school on Monday, he kept looking around thinking that he could have a brother or sister here, and he won't even know it. So, he stared at everyone, looking for curly hair and long skinny legs and nostrils that flare out a little. (It said that on page 46.)
Caden McKnight Based on what I read I know that Chip is stressed and determined for many reasons. One reason is he wants to know why his parents never told him that he was adopted. Another reason is that he wants to know what his background is. Another reason is why did he get sent the mysterious letters and what do they mean?

From my reading, I know why Chip is stressed and determined. I think that he is stressed because he found out that he was adopted only two days ago. Chip is determined about breaking into his fathers safe and figuring out what his actual name was on his birth certificate. When you find out that you were adopted at that age when your in seventh grade it is hard to take in all of it. You are surprised because you thought that you were living with your real parents all this time and then all the sudden they tell you that you were adopted. It's hard to take in.

Jonah has known for his whole life about his adoption, he is very calm about it. But Chip on the other hand found out about his adoption in the seventh grade. Chip is very determined to find out who is birth parents are and find out his name on his birth certificate. He found a number on a post-it note and called immediately not thinking about who it could be. He was so stressed out at this point he didn't care what it took to find out about his past.

Chip was really determined about finding out who he really is that he thought that there might be his birth certificate in the safe at his house that might say who his birth parents are. When Chip went looking through the papers there were two folders. One had house information and another was adoption papers. In the house information there was a post-it note that had someones number on it. With out thinking Chip called the person finding out he was an FBI. When Chip looked through the other stack he found out his birth name. Charles Haddingford Winston the third. I think that Chip is going a little farther than he should and could just calm down and not worry about as much or not at all. I speak from experience because I'm adopted.

From reading chapters 4, and 5 I have realized that Chip has got more stressed, this started when he found out that he was adopted. The stress of being adopted and not knowing about it was hard for Chip. When he found out the he was adopted he was determined to get more information but his parents said that they didn’t want to talk about it. Jonah and Chip think the same about being adopted they wonder what their real parents are like if they are good or bad and wear they got their eyes and dimples from.

Chip being very determined to find his birth parents he gets Jonah to help him break into his Dad’s safe. Jonah does not like the idea and says it’s breaking and entering. Chips says it’s ok since it’s in his house. They figure out the safe code is Chip’s birthday and open the safe. After looking through a couple stacks of papers in the safe they finally find the adoption papers. While in the basement Jonah fell and that’s when he noticed a sticky note under a chair with a phone number on it. Chip being curious called the number and when a man answered Johan hung the phone up.
Chip is so stressed because he has a lot of questions about who he really is. It upsets him that his dad wont talk to him about it. Chip is determined to find out answers by him self or with Jonah's help. He's willing to break into the family safe and also to make phone calls to strangers.

He's also feeling like his adoptive parents betrayed him by not being upfront and honest about his adoption. I think he's kind of feeling like he can't really trust anyone, except for maybe Jonah. Chip gets the idea to breaking into his adoptive father's safe in the basement. He's willing to do that to find any information about his birth parents, but all he found were papers for the house his adoptive parents bought.

I believe that Chip is so stressed and determined because he is having such a hard time accepting that he is adopted. He has lost almost all of his sanity trying to find his birth parents. He is even desperate enough to break into his father's safe and read through stacks of papers. All he wants is to know where he comes from as he said, "I just want to know who I really am." He has been so out of focus that he ran into a wall at school. He called the FBI once and almost did it again, luckily Jonah talked him out of it. Finding out that you are adopted at such a late age must be really hard for Chip to accept.

I know this because on page 45, it states that Chip wants to know if they had any other kids and if they kept them, and if he looks like them. He also might want to know if his family cared about him. On page 45, it states that Chip asks if they just made a mistake, or if they gave him away because they were criminals. He is stressed because his parents that adopted him never told him about anything and never even brought it up, and when he found out he got really stressed out, and he is highly determined to find out what happened to them.

Also, Chip was very serious when telling Jonah to open the safe, the way I could tell was when Chip told Jonah "Your in MY house," he said, "I asked you to open the safe." After that Jonah said "But your parents--" "What they want doesn't count," Chip said HARSHLY. Finally, I can tell he is serious because the word "Harshly" implies that he is not screwing around, meaning that he is 100% stern.

In the beginning of chapter 4, they were trying to open up the safe to see what they could find out or if they could find a birth certificate. We can see that he is really determined because he does not want to stop looking. In chapter 5, they find a post-it note that had a phone number on it. Chip called this number about 4 times. If I were Chip I would also be stressed.
From my reading in chapter four and five, I know that Chip is very stressed and determined. Chip is really stressed because on page 30 it says that he found out he was adopted. It was a long time before his dad had told him. It would be tough to handle. He was so determined to find out more about his REAL parents that he broke into his step/foster dads safe to try and find out more about his adoption in the papers. I can’t blame Chip. I would feel the same way.

He was also very stressed when he opened the safe that his dad has. It made him think of who his birth parents might really be. He is very determined to find out who they are, why they gave him up, and if he has any brothers are sisters. Right now he is very against his parents, like most kids would be.

He is determined because his parents won’t tell him anything about his adoption and he wants to know more. He is also determined because he wants to know where is was born also. That is why I think Chip is stressed and determined.

ReplyDeleteChip is so stressed because is is determined to find out who he really is. This really has to do with the fact that he found out he was adopted just two days ago. The whole time they were at his house, Chip was acting crazy over trying to find out who he really is. He even said that, “I just want to know who I really am.” Als he is stressed out because now that he knows that he is adopted he thinks is parents are complete strangers.

ReplyDeleteFrom my reading, I know why Chip was so stressed and determined. Chip was so stressed because he just found out that he was adopted. Chip is determined because his parents won't tell him anything about him being adopted and he really wants to know who he is, and who is birth parents are. In chapters four and five it tells that Chip and Jonah was in Chip's basement looking for Chip's birth certificate. Chip was about to call someone to tell him about his adoption but then Jonah stopped him and told him that this was not a good idea. I think that showed how determined Chip really was.

According to chapters four and five I think that Chip was so determined to find out who his birth parents are. Chip was also determined to find out more about his adoption, that is why Chip and Jonah look in the safe to find Chip’s birth certificate. Chip even says in chapter five, “I just want to know who I really am.”
Chip is so stressed and determined because he wants to find out who he really is and who his real parents are. It's almost driving him crazy I know this because he's shaking and is almost trying to get in trouble with his parents. He might be even trying to get kicked out of the house.

Based on what I read, I think that chip is determined because he just wants to find out who are his real parents and why he is getting all of these letters. He had just found out that he was adopted and is very stressed because of it. His Parents never told him he was adopted until now and they wont tell hime anything besides, "I don't want to talk about it." He is getting very mad and upset with Jonah because Jonah keeps asking if he is sure he wants to open the safe.

Here is a sentence from the book that will confirm my theory, “You are in my house. He said I asked you to open the safe.” He is so determined to learn more he breaks into a safe. He is stressed because he doesn’t know what he may find. On page 38 it says “Go ahead and open it, Chip said I can’t look. He had his shaking hand over his eyes, but kept lifting it to peek out.” It proves that Chip is afraid of what he might see.

Chip had even ran into a wall at school looking for people with " curly hair and long skinny legs and nostrils that flare out a little." Chip also did many things that would make his parents mad just so he could find out who he really was. Chip had broken into his dad's safe and had called the FBI on accident. Chip would have called the FBI twice if Jonah hadn't stopped him.

I know this because in the the missing found, it says that Chip wants to know who he is and he wants to know more about his adoption. In the book, you can clearly see that Chip is very curious about this birth parents because he broke into his fathers safe just to find out where he's from.
From my reading, I know that Chip is so stressed out because he wants to find out who birth parent are. He also wonders what do they look like? What part of me makes me look like them? He is also stressed out because he wants to learn more about his birth parents but Chips dad and mom aren't talking about his adoption. Chip is so stressed out that he broke in to his dad's safe and didn't bother to think about getting in trouble. Chip is so stressed that he will do anything to find out who his birth parents are and where they are.

Once Chip found out he was adopted he was determined to find out more details about his adoption. He wanted to know who his birth parents were, if he had any siblings, and why his parents put him up for adoption. Chip is also determined to find anyone at school that has the same features as him.

It sounds to me that Chip's parents have not told him anything but that they are not his real parents. Chip and Jonah were looking for his birth certificate and when they found it Chip called the number that was with it but Jonah stopped him before someone answered.

Chip is also determined because his parents would not tell him anything else about his adoption. I know this because in the text it says "Even in the dim light of the basement, Jonah could tell that Chip had a panicky sheet of sweat on his face." Chip was so stressed and determined he broke into his dad’s safe hoping to find his birth certificate. When looking through the safe they came across a sticky note with a number on it, when they dialed the number they realized they were calling the FBI, but Jonah hung up before they could pick up.

That is a huge thing to learn when you are his age. This whole time he has been living under the impression that he is related to his parents but then he learned that he is not related to them. If I had just found out a few days ago that I was adopted I would be eager too. Chip is so out of it that he even breaks into his parents safe, along with the help of Jonah, just to see if he could find his birth certificate. Based on what I read from these chapters I know that Jonah does not like how Chip is behaving. Chip is very stressed out because he wants to know who his parents are, he wants to know if he has any siblings, and he wants answers for his questions. I can infer that Chip is determined to know everything he can about his other family, but when his adoption parents do not want to talk about it that makes it very hard for him.

In my opinion, I think Chip is so determined because he wants to get back at his real parents for not telling him he was adopted. For example, when Chip and Jonah called the number on the post-it note, a man said, “Federal Bureau of Investigations. Reardon speaking.” Jonah immediately hung up the phone, breaking the connection. When Jonah hung up, Chip wasn’t happy because he didn’t want Jonah to lose hope and prematurely stress the situation. After Jonah hung up, Chip said, “What’d you do that for?” Chip is mad at his parents and wants to uncover every detail of his past.
Chip is stressed because he just found out that he was adopted. He wants to know what's in his dad's safe, maybe it might reveal who he really is. This is putting a lot of pressure on him, because his parents never told him this. Either way, he is very determined to open the safe, because it might reveal his origin.

For example, in the book it says, "... I kept looking around and thinking I could have a brother or sister in here and I wouldn't even know it." I know Chip is stressed because it mentions him shaking and being nervous a couple of times. I know he's determined because even after Jonah hung up the phone and they found the number was the FBI's, he still wants to call again.

For example he broke into his fathers safe to find more information. He called the FBI and almost did it again after Jonah hung up the phone the first time. ReplyDeleteI can infer that the reson Chip is so stressed and determined is mainly because he feels so far his whole life has been a lie. He seems like he wants more informtion, I think I would be that upset too if my parent had lied for me to that long so I don't blame him. He feels like he doesn't have an identity and he sounds and acts like he feels lost and hopeless according to page 38 where Chip demanded Jonah to open the safe even though his parent obviously didn't want him to see the papers. I can infer he did this because he was so upset and mad with his parents.

Chip is determined that he would find somebody in his school that is related to him or be his actual siblings. Chip was trying to find someone that looks like him or close to how he looks. Chip was very disappointed when he found out that his parents were actually not his birth parent that he was raised by. Chip wanted to find out who and where his actual birth parents in the safe. Jonah said he would do anything to help Chip find his birth family. When Chip was trying to find someone that looks close to him he started at his school to figure out one by one to see if there is one person that looks similar. Chip was might be wondering when his parents never told him about his adoption he might be wondering what other secrets that his parents have been keeping from him and all the lies, that might be the reason why Chip was in his basement trying to get the information that was inside the safe.
From my reading I know that Chip is stressed because he is adopted. Being adopted wouldn't stress some people out, but he didn't know about how he was adopted until he was thirteen. Because Chip never knew about it, he thought that his adoption parents were his real parents. Not knowing that I was adopted when I was thirteen and then finding out that I was adopted would stress me out too. Chip was determined to find out who his real parents are, so Chip, Katherine, and Jonah tried to find his real parents.

It is also the reason why Chip and Jonah look in the safe that was in Chip basement. (The code was Chip birthday - 0919...) But while they look in the safe Jonah found Chip a document labeled birth certificate- Cook County, Illinois and that he got adopted from Happy Family Adoption Agency. Another reason why Chip is determined is because Chip doesn't know if he has a brother or sister that goes to the same school. When Chip walked into school on Monday, he kept looking around thinking that he could have a brother or sister here, and he won't even know it. So, he stared at everyone, looking for curly hair and long skinny legs and nostrils that flare out a little. (It said that on page 46.)
