Chapters 15 & 16

Explain what Chip and Katherine hope to gain by making all those phone calls. Why is Jonah not helping them?

  1. I believe that when Chip and Katherine call all those people, they hope to gain more information. I think that they want to find more people that they can talk to about all the crazy stuff that has happened. I think that they want to find people that can relate to all the crazy things that have happened to them since they got those letters. I think that Jonah was not helping them because he is afraid to find out who he really is. I think that he just wants to live a normal live as Jonah, and not someone who has something to do with the FBI and is really important. He also is really stubborn, and when he said that he wasn't going to help them, he continues to not help them, because he doesn't want to crush his ego. He wants to make sure that he stays with what he said he was going to do, and not give in, which is why he wasn't helping Chip and Katherine.

Based on my reading, I know that Chip and Katherine are making those phone calls to survivors in hopes to find out more about the what they know about what they survived. They both are very Eager to gain more knowledge about Chip and Jonah's past. Jonah wants to forget about the whole situation from being in a mental state of shock after seeing his and Chip's name under the survivors section of the file that Katherine took pictures of. As Jonah states state's at the beginning of chapter fifteen, "I don't
      care".

  2. From what I have read, I think that when Chip and Katherine call all those people they are expecting to find people who are related to the super crazy things that have been happening. They hope to gain more information from the phone. I think that he is not going to help them because he is afraid of what he will find.He continues not to help them because he doesn't want to crush his ego after he has told them that he is not going to help them. He continues not to help and i don't think he will change his mind after what he has said concerning, not helping them.

    2. I think Jonah is not helping Chip and Katharine because he is afraid of who he really is. Also, because he is scared to find out who his real parents are. His parents could be bad people. Jonah just fears they are not what he hoped they would be.

From my reading, I know that Chip and Katherine are assuming to find answers to there questions when they completely figure out the FBI folder. In the FBI folders there are phone numbers and addresses to witnesses and survivors. Out of the survivors Chip starts to figure out a pattern. All the survivors have moved from the past six months into the cities Listen, Upper Tyson, and Clarksville. All of the survivors happen to be adopted and were 13 or almost 13 years old . Yet Jonah tries not to pay any attention to the study because one he wants to prove he is not interested in the search to Katherine, two he doesn't want to know any more about the file, and three I don't think he wants to be around Katherine.

  5. Chip and Katherine call those people on the phones to find information, well that is what I believe. I think Jonah doesn't want to help Chip and Katherine with the phone calls because, he doesn't like talking to strangers. And he might not want to find out about his past. As we saw in the FBI office Jonah had a hard time dealing with the situation. Personally I would side with Jonah in this chapter, only because calling random people on the phone is a bad idea. Chip and Katherine were too exited and they jumped right into the calls without making some sort of plan. They are just assuming the people will give them the answers they want.

What Chip and Katharine are trying gain is information. Jonah is not helping because he doesn't want to get wrapped up in the mess. The reason Chip and Katharine want information is because of the survivors list. There about to find out more information from a anonymous letter.

I think Chip and Kathrine will gain knowledge for the future. The reason why Jonah isn't helping Chip and Kathrine is because he doesn't want to get into trouble with his parents or anyone! Sometimes he will ask questions or help a little bit but not much.

    2. Brandon Calkins,

I think why Jonah was not talking to his parents about his adoptions is because he already knows that he's adopted. Jonah doesn't need to speak much about it because he already knows about it.

I think Chip and Katherine are trying to get more detailed information about the kids on the list they found. Chip and Katherine have been calling these kids on the list and asking if any of them received mysterious letters like Chip and Jonah did. It seems Jonah is not willing to help them because he doesn’t want to know everything about the other kids. He’s also acting strange and not as eager as Chip and Katherine are in finding out information. Maybe he doesn’t want to find out who he really is or where he came from.

I think he's not talking to his parents because he doesn't want them to know that he knows about the list. And that Chip and Katherine are calling kids from the list without permission.

Chip and Katharine had been working hard through these last few chapters. They had been trying to gain knowledge about Jonah's and Chip's adoptions. To gain this knowledge, they had to call the whitenesses and the fellow survivors. They wanted to plunge further into the mystery. Not Jonah though. Jonah didn't want to help Chip and Katherine. He wanted nothing to do with the entire mission to figure out where he and Chip came from and who their birth parents might be. I do know that Jonah never told his parents about any of this and lied about where they were and what they were doing. My prediction is that inside, he never wanted to be apart of this mission from the start.

Chip and Katherine are hoping to figure out who is sending all those strange letters. Second, they want to figure out what the FBI is hiding. They also want to figure out who is the disappearing man Katherine saw and what he is. They want to find out why everyone on the survivors list lives in that area, is adopted, and are the same age.
Jonah doesn't want to help or have anything to to do with the investigation because it is too overwhelming and it simply doesn't make sense. So he doesn't want to accept that there are ghosts, that the letters actually mean something, or that there is something big that the FBI has been hiding for years.

What Chip and Katherine hope to gain is information on Chip and Jonah's adoption's. They are calling every body to ask them what they survived. Jonah isn't helping them because he doesn't care about what there trying to figure out. Also at the end of the chapter chip got a weird letter saying to meet someone at the library.

I believe that Katherine and Chip seek more information to solve all of the freaky stuff going on around them. They think that they might gain some of that useful information by calling and talking to people on the classified files. So far it has opened up more questions than answers for Katherine and Chip. I think Jonah has decided not to help because deep down he is afraid what he will find about himself. He wants to know who he really is, but at the same time doesn't. He is afraid that if he finds something bad that it might haunt him for the rest of his life, but at the same time it could be the best thing ever, he doesn't want to know what one it is...yet.

From my reading, I know that Chip and Katherine are hoping to find answers from the people that they have called. They are asking what they survived and where they lived. Chip is the most interested in finding out who he is, so he is the one putting in the most effort. Jonah, on the other hand, does not have the desire to find out who he is or anymore about his past. Therefore, Jonah has helped the least.

From reading chapters 15, and 16 I know Chip and Katherine hope that they are going to get some information about the adoption from calling all the people. It turns out that they did get some information from Daniella McCarthy. Jonah didn’t want to know about the papers because he wanted it to all go away. At the end of chapter 16 Jonah was somewhat interested into learning about what Chip had found.

  15. I think that Chip and Katherine hope to gain information about who Chip and Jonah really are. I think they are also trying to get information about why they're getting the letters, and what it means by "the survivors," and why Mr. Reardon was so crazy when they met him. I think Jonah is not helping them because it seems like he just wants to be normal and he doesn't want anything to do with the FBI at all. Chip and Katherine are also asking if anything unusual happened thirteen years ago because they want to know what the survivors list means, as in WHAT did they survive. Chip and Katherine are doing this because Chip wants to find out who he is, yet Jonah seems like he doesn't want to find out who he is.

Do you think that the event was major? I think that it must have been very major event because everybody that Chip and Katherine talk to always act strange. It must have been kept secret from the public so the would not get worried or something like that. Maybe the kids just did not think of looking in a history book or on the internet.

  16. What Kathrine and Chip hope to gain is some knowledge of why this is happening. They want to know why the weird creepy stuff like the "you are one of the missing letters" is happening. They also want more information about the mysterious letter they just received. Jonah doesn't want to help Kathrine and Chip because he doesn't want to know too much more about it is that he is too scared about everything happening.

I think the reason Chip and Kathrine are making all of those phone calls is because they want to get more information about Chip and Jonah's birth parents and maybe get more information a survivors. I think that Jonah is not helping them because he said he doesn't care. It also could be because Jonah always knew he was adopted but Chip didn't and Chip is trying to find more information. Based on what I read, I believe Chip and Katherine are making all of those phone calls because they want to find out more information about Chip and Jonah. I also believe that they are trying to find out if the same thing that happened to Chip and Jonah has happened to anyone on the list. Another reason I think they are making these phone calls are to see if anyone knows about Chip and Jonah's family's. I think that Jonah isn't helping them because he doesn't care anymore. He has already realized all the trouble he has gone through. Starting with the letter and ending with Mr.Reardon. I also think that Jonah is scared he is shocked so he wants to stop and leave it as it is. Chip and Katherine, they want to know everything they possibly can. I believe that in the future something bad is going to happen to them.

I think that Chip and Katherine are making all those phone calls because they want to know exactly what the survivors list is. I also think that they might be making all the phone calls because they want to know what happened to them as kids. I think that Jonah is ignoring them because he doesn't want to know what might happen next, and I think that he is actually thinking about what might happen in the future, instead of not thinking about anything. Finally, the last reason I think he is ignoring them is that he doesn't care about it. I think he might not care because he already has enough going on with his parents and the FBI visit and he has a lot going on, so he thinks that Chip and Katherine can do what they are going to do, and he will just go on doing what he is doing.

What I think Chip and Katherine are trying to gain by making all those phone calls, is to simply gain information. I think that because part of their brain is just saying "I'm going to see this through to the end." Also, They're probably curious, Little 11-12 year old minds are very curios, I would know!(Because I'm that age.) Finally, Jonah isn't helping out because I think he is trying to comprehend what's been going on. I think this because, like I said in the last question, its ridiculous, and usually when something is ridiculous it takes longer to understand.

What Chip and Katherine hope to gain by calling all those people was to find information about why they were a survivor or a witnesses, but they they did not really get an information from any of the people they called. Why Jonah did not want to help Chip and Katherine was because in the text it says that on page, 111, it says, " he felt like he was still too close to the computer screen. his mind kept trying to turn the vague squiggles back into words and words into ideas. Survivors. I'm on the survivors list. What does that mean? he reminded that that he didn't care . he bent over and picked up his jacket." So why Jonah did not help chip and Katherine because he did not care.

  53. Based on what I've read so far, I think that Chip and Katherine have quite a few things they can gain from all of these phone calls. For example, what the FBI has to do with this, explanations on the "ghost," and where Chip and Jonah came from. They could also explain what the list of survivors and witnesses means, along with who is sending the letters. I think that Jonah doesn't want to help because he just wants a normal life. He doesn't want to get wrapped up in all of this crazy FBI stuff! But aside from those, I think that there is one reason that really stands out-he is afraid. According to Found The Missing Book 1, Chip wants to know why all of these strange things are happening and why he doubts his own identity. He wants to know this now. Chip and Katherine hope to gain more information through all of these phone calls of why Chip and Jonah got those letters, why everyone they have called is adopted, and why they are on a list titled Survivors. From my reading I know that Jonah does not want to help because he just wants to live a normal life, and he doesn't want to snoop around in other people's lives. From what the author wrote, I can infer that Chip and Katherine are very interested about making all the calls just to see if they are having the same exsperiences as Chip and Jonah because they're all on the survivors list. Of course Katherine still isn't really grasping what's going on but she is also making it as sensable to her as possible, sometimes making her attitude about the situation being childish. This may be why Jonah is not very convinced that he should really be putting so much effort into something so kid-like to him. At this point he acts like he just wants to forget and move on while living a normal life.

  58. Chip and Katherine hope to gain information about the list and about the file. And maybe Chips adoption. Or anything about the files. The reason why Jonah is not helping them with anything is because his name is on the list. And he was shocked and didn't want to be apart of it.

Chip and Katherine are trying to gain information from these phone calls. As they gain knowledge I think they will find more more information that will make them afraid. It would help them if they had more hope considering their situation. Hope will keep them going. They want to help Jonah I believe, but he doesn't want to help or be apart of it. He is feeling overwhelmed and just doesn't want to deal with it.

  60. From my reading chip and Jonah are trying to find things out about a list that the F.B.I held. They have found some things weird such as some people hanging up really fast or just blow them off and I think that the are afraid that they will find some info that is creepy. The reason I think Jonah is not helping chip or Kathrine is because he doesn't want to know what is happening. I think that they are making the phone calls because they are curious of he list.

From my reading I think that Chip and Katherine are calling all of those people so they can gain more information. They need to find people who are willing to talk about why they're on a list called witnesses and what happened. I think Jonah isn’t helping them because on he said he wanted things to go back to normal when Chip and him would talk about basketball and stuff. Also Jonah is being very stubborn. If I was Jonah I would probably be like him.

From what I have read in the book so far I think that Chip and Katherine are trying to get all the kids together and find out what happened to all of them. Another thing that they might be trying to do is find out if the other kids have been receiving letters too, and if they know why they are getting them, and from whom. A reason that Jonah doesn't want help might be because he just wants to put all of that stuff behind him. One more reason Jonah doesn't want to help might because he is scared what they might find.

I think that Chip and Katherine were trying to figure out why he was on a list of survivors and witnesses. I think they wanted to know and see if Chip's birth parents were on the list, and if they could find them. Another thing they could be trying to figure out is who the ghost thing was, and why the files were so secretive. I think Jonah wanted nothing to do with it because he was probably scared what the results would be. He probably wanted to have a normal life, and didn't want to think about the files or the mysterious letters.

From what I have read from chapters 15, and 16 I think that they are trying to find things out. On Chip's and Jonah's adoption. Chip and Kathrine are trying to find information about all of those people that they called. Jonah and Chip just want to live as normal people. All of those people that got called maybe are connected to all of the things that have been happen to them lately.

I think that the reason that Chip and Katherine are making all these phone calls is to gain more information about the crazy things that have been happening. They need to find information that will help them figure out what happened thirteen years ago. I think that Jonah is afraid of the information they might find. He does not want to face the fact that there is something very odd going on.

I think that the reason Katherine and Chip are making all those phone calls is because they are hoping to gain more information about Chip and Jonah’s adoption. They want to know more about what has happened to them. Chip also hopes to find out more about himself. They want to know who else is getting those letters or are they the only ones. Also, why do they all live in the same location, or going to live in the same location. Katherine and Chip learned about a girl named Danelle who is going move to their location, but she dosen’t know that she is going to move, though Katherine and Chip do. Lastly Jonah is not helping Chip and Katherin because he is scared of what he is going to find out.

By making all those phone calls Chip and Katherine hope to gain more information about the people in the files. They want to gain this information so they can get more information about Chip and Jonah's adoptions and the letters that they keep getting. One reason why Jonah is not helping them is because he doesn't want to hear any more information. Also, I think he is scared about what he might find out.

Chip and Katherine made those phone calls because, they were try to collect more info and connect the dots. They were trying to figure out how everyone on the survivor list was connected. I think Jonah doesn't want to help them because it's a scary situation and he might be afraid to find out what's next.

Katherine and Chip were making the phone calls because they want to see if anybody knows anything that would help them to give those clues or hints on needed to do. Katherine and Chip had hope that they would figure something out when they made the phone calls with those people. Jonah didn't help because after he saw his name on the survival list he didn't really want to know more about basically anything else because he was worried why his name was on the list anyways. Why Jonah also didn't help is because he thinks that Chip and Katherine are not going to find any serious information about the letters or their adoptions because they don’t know anyone so they might be telling lies or telling the truth. Chip and Katherine also wanted to ask questions to the people on the survivals list about their lives when they were adopted and why their parents left them. They asked a lot of questions so the more questions they ask they think that they might get more answers about adoptions and their lives. I think that the survival list mean the kids on the plane who survived inside the plane.

Chip and Katherine are making these calls because they both want to figure out all the strange events that have been happening. For example, the ghost Katherine saw freaked her out. Chip doesn't know who he is and has always felt like there is something wrong with him. I know this because in the book it says, "Even before I found out I was adopted, even before I knew mom and dad weren't really my parents- biological parents, I mean- I always felt like there was something wrong with me. Something different. Like I wasn't who I was supposed to be. Like I never belonged," Katherine is also doing this because it is inferred that she thinks it's fun. It mentions in the book that Chip wants Jonah to help him because Katherine thinks it's fun. Jonah does not help because he wants to pretend like none of this ever happened and he feels overwhelmed because he feels like his name being on the paper makes it seem like theres a possibility that everything else could be real.

What Chip and Katherine hope to gain by making all those phone call is that they want information about the other kids on the survivor list and witness. (Katherine got a picture of the list at the meeting with Mr. Reardon.) All of the kids on the list are 13 years old and they all live Liston, Ohio, Upper Tyson, or Clarksville. Except a kid on the survivors list named Daniella McCarthy. So before school Jonah and Chip called Daniella and asked her if her family is going to move, her family wasn’t. Then after school Daniella called Chip and Jonah and said that her family had a change of plans (That they were going to move.) Daniella father made the announcement over breakfast that he got a new job transfer. The house that they were thinking to move in was on the list before they had even move. (1873 Robin’s Egg Lane.) The reason that Jonah wouldn’t help Chip and Katherine with the phone calls is because of the survivor and witness list. When Jonah saw his and Chip name on the survivors list Jonah didn’t what to get involve with it any longer.

Chip and Katherine hope to get some information about the survivors and from what they found is a good thing they made those calls. The phone calls they made also gained a theory of Chips. Chi is not helping them because chip likes Katherine, he feels paralyzed, and he believes Katherine is incorrect about the information she has given Jonah. Jonah obviously feels paralyzed because he is scared about the letters. Jonah also probably feels pretty lousy because he still doesn't know much about where he came from.

Based on what I read I think that Chip and Katherine are trying to find out what Witnesses and Survivors mean. I think that is what they hope to gain by making all those phone calls. I think that the reason Jonah is not helping them is because it is a bit overwhelming to him. I think that he might start helping once it has all sank in.

From reading, I know that Chip and Katherine are hoping to gain more knowledge from these phone calls about the "survivors." They seemed determined to get to the bottom of this. Not so much Jonah. I think the reason why he is not helping is because he is afraid of what he will find. What makes matters worse is that his parents just told him he was adopted just recently in the book.
