  1. Chip and Jonah have a lot in common. One thing they both like to do is play basketball. In the text it says, "This was strange too because Chip had never been in Jonah's room before. They were play-basketball-in-the-driveway-and-maybe-come-into-the-kitchen-for-a-drink-of-water friends, not let's-go-hang-out-in-my-room friends." This tells me that they are the kind of friends that like to play games together, but they don't sit and talk just for the sake of being together. From my reading, I know that Chip wants Jonah to play basketball. Chip and Jonah think alike because when they both got a letter saying, “You are one of the Missing,” they both thought it was a prank letter. They did not think it was a big deal. Chip and Jonah’s adoptions differed because Jonah was told he was adopted the whole time while Chip was not told until he got his letter. Chip was very angry.

I don't think Chip and Jonah think the same at all. One very big aspect about Chip and Jonah is that they are both adopted. Another aspect is, both of the friends don't know that much about their real parents. Both friends got strange letters saying, "You are one of the missing!" and, "THEY'RE COMING BACK TO GET YOU!". One aspect Jonah and Chip's adoptions differ is, Chip was lied to about not being adopted his whole life, while on the other hand, Jonah knew that he was adopted his whole life.

  2. Chip and Jonah have many similarities, along with many differences. I know this because They are both adopted, although Jonah has known ever since he was adopted. Chip's parents didn't tell him until he was in the seventh grade, and I gather that they didn't plan to tell him for a long time, if ever. I think this because Chip's parents hadn't told him anything until he actually asked. I believe that they were just going to live acting like Chip wasn't adopted. Chip had asked, so his father told him that Chip was adopted. Chip and Jonah also have pretty different ways of acting and thinking. It might just be this way because so far, you only get a view from Jonah's mind and not Chip's, but Jonah seems to have more respect than Chip. I know this because Chip seems to be the kind of person who says whatever comes to mind, and Jonah seems to think about what he should say more often. I know this because in the text, when Chip tells Jonah about his conversation with his father, it says, "'You know, there are lots of reasons people can't take care of their own kids,' Jonah said cautiously." Jonah makes sure that whatever he says won't cause any trouble, and what Chip says seems not to bother Jonah, but make him question Chip. Overall, Jonah just seems like a good kid, who is not snotty and annoying. Chip seems like a good kid too, just not as respectful.

Chip and Jonah have many things in common they also have a lot of differences. They both like to play basket ball, they got the same letter saying "you are one of the missing." some differences between them are Jonah knew his whole life that he was adopted and chip found out in seventh grade. Jonah was eating dinner when chip rang the doorbell he rang the doorbell a couple more times when Jonah finally answered the door. The two boys went up to Jonah's room in his room Jonah kept reassuring chip that he would be able to find his birth parents when he was older.

Chip and Jonah have many things in common, they also have a lot of differences. Such as, they both play basketball. chip is not a close friend, just a friend. another thing they have in common is they are both adopted children. It has been difficult for Jonah ever sense he discovered he was adopted. One day, they got the same letter. Chip rudely rang the door bell more than once, repeatedly. Interrupting dinner, Jonah took chip to his room. Jonah thought he would find his true parents in time.

Chip and Jonah have a lot of similarities. One thing that I know that they both like to do is play basketball.I know that they liked to play basketball because they were friends and they weren't the type of friends that would go hang-out in their room or sit and talk type of friends, they were the type of friends that would like to play games with each other. Another thing that they have in common is they were both adopted. Jonah knew that she was adopted ever since it happened. Chip didn't know that he was adopted until he was in seventh grade. When he found that he was adopted his whole life he was very angry.

From my reading, I know that Chip is the type of person who thinks and takes things sometimes to far. He also seems to over react sometimes. As for when he found out that he was adopted, he started to get really worried. Jonah seems like the type of person that will think about things until he figures them out. He will stay calm and try to calm down his friends too. One thing they have in common though, is that they are both adopted. They also love to play basket ball. Though with their adoptions, it was a different story. First of all, Jonah had known that he was adopted his whole life and had always stayed calm about it. If I were Chip and had figured it out at his age, I would have honestly over reacted too. I have a prediction though. In the prologue, there was a plane full of babies. I have the feeling that since Chip and Jonah both received a letter from someone unidentified, that they were both at least one baby off of that plane.

  6. Chip and Jonah are very different but also very similar from what I have read. Chip is a person that questions most things and overthinks them. In the text Chip asks. "Do you ever wonder what's going to happen?" "I mean, I really, really want to make the basketball team. But even if I make it in seventh and eighth graders, then there's high school to deal with. Whoa. And then there's college, and being a grown-up... It's all pretty scary, don't you think?". Jonah seems very calm, he doesn't overthink most things and wants to live in the present. We also learn this from when Chip is in his room, he tries to explain things to him like birth parents, and real parents. Chip and Jonah are similar because we learned that they are both sensitive about their adoptions. In the yard when Jonah finds his "Prank letter" he rips it into pieces. When Chip found this "Prank letter" he ran to Jonah's house and asked for help, he banged on Jonah's door and was freaking out about the whole thing, because that was the time where Chip found out that he was adopted. But I have a theory that Jonah and Chip are one of those babies on the plane that we learned about in the prologue. So we can guess that there is probably many other "You are one of the missing letters"

From my reading I know that Chip has a different way of thinking then Jonah. I know this because Chip so far just likes to say everything that comes to mind and overreact to things instead of thinking things through like Jonah does. Jonah has more respect for what he says so that he doesn't hurt others feelings and so that he doesn't cause any sort of issue. They both seem really kind and nice but Chip doesn't seem to have as much respect as Jonah. I found out in the beginning that both of them like basketball. During a game of basketball Jonah received a letter from an unknown sender saying he was one of the missing. Jonah fist thought that it could've been something serious, but then he thought it was just a awful prank about him being adopted. From this I think that Jonah is more kindhearted and serious, but doesn't liked to be teased about his adoption. When Chip found out that he was adopted he was really mad. Chip had also seemed kind of scared because in the text Chip tries to tell Jonah that he is adopted but is overwhelmed with the fact that he is adopted. He was so overwhelmed that he couldn't do anything but nod to the question that Jonah asked. Jonah had known his whole life that he was adopted, but Chip has just found out in seventh grade.

  8. Chip and Jonah both like playing basketball because at the beginning of the book they are playing basketball. Chip and Jonah don't think pranks are funny. The reason I know they both don't think pranks are funny is because in the book it says "We think pranks aren't funny" said Chip. Chip and Jonah's adoptions are different because Chip's parents are mentioned all the time and Jonah's parents aren't mentioned at all.

Chip and Jonah do not think alike because when Jonah receives his letter that says you are one of the missing he says "Just a prank , I guess." but, when Chip receives his letter he goes to his dad and asks if he is adopted and his dad told him yes. The reason I think Chip and Jonah think different is because Chip takes the letter seriously but, Jonah does not. What Chip and Jonah have in common is they like playing basketball and they are both adopted. Jonah's adoption is different than Chip's adoption because Johnah knew about his adoption his whole life but, Chip did not know about his adoption until he was 13.

From reading chapters 1,2,and 3 I know that Jonah and chip share the same interest in basketball. Jonah and Chip were the kind friends that play basketball and sometimes go in the kitten to get a drink and now they are the type of friends who go and hang out in their bedrooms. Chip had first found out that Jonah was adopted when they were playing basketball, and then later in the book Chip found out that he was adopted too. Jonah and Chip adoption is different because Jonah had already knew about being adopted, on the other hand Chip had no idea he was adopted. Chip’s Dad said that he never wanted to talk about it again.

Chip and Jonah have in common that they both are adopted, they both go the same school in seventh grade, and they both like basketball so far in the book. Chip and Jonah differ because Jonah is more calm the Chip, and Chip is more enthusiastic.
Their adoptions are differant because Jonah knew that he was adopted from the very start, and Chip only found out recently about his adoption because he got a note that said, "you are one of the missing" and asked his dad about it. Their adoptions also are differant because Jonah was always been cool with it, and accepted it. Chip and Jonah are similar but they can also be different occasinally. They both like basketball and they both are adopted. chip thinks before he talks and he overthinks and sometimes chip just needs to calm down. like in chapter three when he finds out he is adopted and then he's furious and He says that his adopted parents just complete strangers to him now. Where as Jonah always new that he was adopted and had books that his adopted parents gave him. Jonah also knows to think before he speaks. Their adoptions are also different because Jonah always knew and Chip just found out and chip isn't as respectful as Jonah.

I know that because in the beginning they where both playing basket ball outside. Another thing that they have in common is that they both are adopted. I know that because in the 1st chapter it said Jonah was adopted. Then in the second chapter it said Chip was adopted. Something else that they have in common is that they are both in the same grade. They are both in the 7th grade. I know that because in chapter one it said that they where in the 7th grade. Those where the similarities I saw, but there is also differences. For example they both think differently. For example, Jonah thinks that your real parents are the ones who take care of you and Chip thinks that you real parents are your birth parents. 20. From my reading I know that Chip and Jonah are alike in many ways. On page fourteen we find out that they both like basketball, and the both were adopted. Jonah and Chip are different because of their adoptions, for instance, Chip finds out he's adopted when he's thirteen. Jonah has always known he was adopted. I know this because in chapter three Jonah tries to calm Chip down, but Chip is really mad and he can't control himself because he is filled with anger and rage so he pounded his fists against the door. Jonah tries to calm him down by saying, "There are lots of reasons people can't take care of their kids. Then he says, "Maybe your birth parents died and that's why you were adopted." They're also different because Chip just randomly says things without really thinking like, "My parents are complete strangers." Chip seems to be more of a negative person, because he thinks his birth parents abandoned him, while Jonah always thinks positive, and can see the good in a situation. I think it would be really hard to be friends with someone that negative.

Chip takes longer time to compare and define questions and answers. Although, Jonah takes shorter time to find the answers to questions. These are my answers for their different ways of thinking. For things in common, Chip has been in a new neighborhood for only three months during the summertime. Jonah is familiar with his neighborhood very well because he has been their longer. For adoption differences, Chip always thought he was a non adopted child while later on in life, his father told him that he was adopted. Jonah had already knew that he was adopted because of all of the adoption books.

From my reading I know that, Chip and Jonah think the same because when they got a letter saying that they were both one of the missing. Then they both thought that it was a prank letter, because seventh grade was all about pranks. According to the text it says that, Chip and Jonah have a good amount of things in common for friends. First, they both like to play basketball together, then they were both adopted, lastly, they are both one of the Missing. From my reading I know that, how Chip and Jonah's adoptions have differed is because Jonah has always known that he was adopted, but on the other hand Chip found out when he was thirteen and his parents never were willing to talk about Chips adoption. Chip and Jonah have a lot in common. A couple of the things are that they both have in common are they both recieved "prank letters", they both like playing basket ball, and they are both adopted. I know they both got a "prank letter" because it says chip came banging on Jonah's front door saying,"I got one too. One of those letters. About being missing." I also know they like playing basketball because it says they were play-basketball-in-driveway-friends. I know that they were both adopted because it says that Chip stated, "You don't look much like your sister." "Adopted," Jonah said back. Then when Jonah and Chip were talking about the "prank letters" Jonah asked if he was adopted. In the beginning of the next chapter Jonah said why didn't you tell me that this afternoon? Chip then stated I didn't know. There adoptions have differed because Jonah New he has been adopted since he got adopted. Chip just found out that he was adopted. Chip and Jonah think differently. Jonah is more of a who cares person and Chip is more of an uptight kind of person. He lets everything get to him. He also thinks super negative. I think trying to be friends with him would be a little tricky.

Another thing Chip and Jonah have in common is that they both got prank letters. According to the text, we learned Jonah was adopted when Chip stated "You don't look much like your sister," and Jonah replied "Adopted,". From my reading, I know that the way Chip and Jonah have handled their adoptions are differently. For example, Jonah has known for ever since his parents have been telling him. Chip on the other hand has just recently learned about his adoption. I know about there adoptions because it stated so in the beginning of the book. Chip learned about his adoption when he went inside his house showed his dad the prank letter and told his dad Jonah was adopted. Then he asked if he was adopted too, and his dad just stood there. Jonah, was different his parents have been talking about how he has been adopted since he can remember. According to the text, Chip and Jonah have different ways of thinking. When Chip thinks he is open minded and thinks negative. Then we got Jonah an easy going guy, who doesn't care much about anything.

Jonah and Chip have many similarities and differences. Both are entering the seventh grade, both got letters saying they are the missing found, and they both like playing basketball. Another similarity is both boys are adopted, but this also comes with differences. Chip thinks being adopted is bad; Jonah is fine with being adopted. Chip won't refer to his parents as his "real parents", while Jonah says real parents are the ones that take care of you, not your "birth parents." Another one of their differences is the fact that they found out about being adopted at different times. Jonah has known ever since his parents got him, but Chip found out recently. Chip's parents never seemed to really want to tell Chip; Jonah's parents, on the other hand, think that it is a good thing to be adopted and had no problem telling him.

Chip and Jonah have many things in common. One thing they have in common is, they both enjoy playing basketball. On page 17 I read that Chip wants to make the basketball team. I can infer that he wants to try out because he likes basketball. I can tell Jonah also wants to play basketball because on page 24 the author states that basketball is a no brainier to him. There adoptions are the opposites from each other. Jonah's parents told him that he was adopted when he was able to understand what they were telling him. Chip just learned that he was adopted in chapter 2. Jonah thinks before he speaks. Chip speaks before he can comprehend it. They also both think about different things. Chip thinks about girls and the future. Jonah thinks about the past and present not the future. On page 17 the author states Jonah does not like planning.

Chip and Jonah do not think alike. On page 17, it states that Chip thinks about the future and what is going to happen next, unlike Jonah, who doesn't think about what is going to happen next, and only thinks about basketball and girls. What chip and Jonah both have in common is they are both adopted, and they both like basketball. From my reading, I know that their adoptions are different from each others because, Jonah had always known he was adopted, as for chip he had to process it for a long time and his dad had to tell him he was. Also, Jonah didn't have to be told he was adopted, as for chip, he had to be told he was adopted.

Chip and Jonah have a lot in common, for instance they both love basketball. Another example is, Chip and Jonah are both adopted. Jonah always knew he was adopted, Chip just found out that he was adopted from his dad. Chip got a note from the mail and he doesn't know who the letter is from. Jonah got the same letter, but Jonah got it before Chip. The letter said "You are one of the missing", it said so on page 20 and on page 28. Chip doesn't think like Jonah and Jonah doesn't think like Chip. Chip is really energetic and Jonah is calmer. for instance on the first page of chapter 5 it said "Chip shoved hard against Jonah's chest, pushing him away." that was when Chip and Jonah where looking through Chip's mom and dad's safe. While Jonah was calm and trying to calm chip down.

From reading chapters, 1,2and 3 I know that Jonah and Chip share the same interest in basketball.Jonah and Chip were kind on friends that went to get a drink at the Kitten and hung out, but now they are types of friends that hand out each others bedrooms now.Chips first found out that Jonah was first adopted when they where playing basketball, but then later in the book Chip finds out that he was adopted too.Jonah and Chip are different in their adoptions because Jonah new that he was adopted first, and in the other hand Chip had no idea, Chips dad said "he never wanted to talk about in again."But I think that Chips dad could have handled it a little bit better then he did.

What I think Jonah and Chip have in common, is that they have a friendship also they both got a letter that said "You are one of the missing." They are both adopted but chip found out far later than Jonah. Their adoptions differ because, once again chip found out later than Jonah had. It proves this on the last page of chapter 2 it says "Are you adopted?" Jonah whispered "Wordlessly, Chip nodded" proving my point that chip is adopted. Finally, I know that he found out later because in the book it said that Chip always knew that Jonah was adopted, but he thought that he himself wasn't.

  37. Chip and Jonah have a lot in common. First of all, they both share the same interest in basketball. Next, they are both the same age and are also adopted. Lastly, Chip and Jonah both have received letters that say, "You are one of the missing."
From my reading, I know that Chip and Jonah's adoptions are very similar. The only big difference is that Jonah has known his whole life that he is adopted. His parents always tell him the story of when they got him. Chip, though, has never known he was adopted, until he met Jonah. All in all, Chip and Jonah have a lot in common, even though their adoptions are different.

According to the text, Chip and Jonah do have some things in common but also have differences. Chip and Jonah are both adopted. From my reading, Jonah knew that he was adopted from the start but Chip just learned that he was adopted. Jonah knows lots about being adopted and he knows the correct terms. But Chip was not taught the same way as Jonah. Chip's parents hid the fact that he was adopted and moved on. Based on what I've read, I can tell that Jonah is okay with being adopted. Although when Chip was told he was adopted he did not react well. He was acting as if he just committed a murder. Just from reading those few chapters I know that Jonah was a calm person but Chip was very worried and anxious about his situation.

For example, Jonah's parents told him that he was adopted way before Chip moved into the neiborhood. Chip found our later in the book. They're also different because they aren't both that sporty. They are simular because they both wanted to know more about what there parents are like and who they are, they wanted to find out more about the adotion.

  42. Based on the chapters 1-3, I know Chip and Jonah are similar to each other.  For example they both like basketball, they are adopted and live in the same neighborhood.  They also both want to learn more about their parents and their adoption. From my reading, I know that they don’t think alike. For example when Jonah got the note reading "YOU ARE ONE OF THE MISSING", he just thought it was a prank. When Chip got the same letter he was freaking out about it. The two different ways Chip and Jonah found out their were adopted was very different. Jonah had always known about him being adopted and his parents talk about it all the time.  Chip found out when he was in seventh grade and it came up when Chip told his dad about the note.  His dad told Chip he never wanted to talk about it again.

From my reading I know that Chip and Jonah are alike in many ways. For example, Chip and Jonah both have a like for basketball, and they are both adopted. Receiving the letter that stated the sentence, "YOU ARE ONE OF THE MISSING." is something they have in common. They also both live in the same neighborhood. Based on what I read Chip and Jonah think different from one another. Chip has a crush on Jonah's younger sister, but Jonah doesn't think his sister is all that great. I can tell that Jonah doesn't think his sister is all that great because they call each other nicknames that annoy each other, and that leads to tension between them. Chip and Jonah also think differently because they both reacted differently when they received their letters. Chip freaked out because his letter led to knowing he was adopted, but Jonah didn't freak out. He just told himself that the letter was a prank. Chip and Jonah's adoptions have differed because Jonah knew about his adoption for a long time, and Chip just found out. Chip took being adopted very seriously. When Chip found out he was adopted his "dad" didn't make anything better. Chip wanted to know more about his birth parents but his dad told him he never wanted to talk about this again. Jonah's parents did not do that to him. They bought Jonah books about adoption, but, alas, those books got boring so he read the adoption books his parents had.

According to the first few chapters I know that Chip and Jonah have many things in common. One example is that both Chip and Jonah are in seventh grade. This is a pretty important aspect because people who are in the same grade think alike and they both seem to like the same things. The bulk of the thinks they have in common are they both like basketball, they were both adopted, they both received the same letter, and they live in the same neighborhood. Some of the ways that Chip and Jonah's adoptions have differed are that Jonah and his parents have a good relationship and they are very open with each other but, with Chip, he does not seem as open with his parents and does not have a very good relationship. Chip's parents kept the secret that he was adopted and there is a very high chance that there is a lot he does not know still. That is much more different with Jonah and his family they are very close and Jonah knows all about his adoption. Jonah's family always sits together a the table for dinner but Chip was at Jonah's hose so that means he probably does not always sit with his family at dinner.

  45. Based on what I read, Jonah and Chip have many things in common. For example, the book tells us that they are both in seventh grade, they both play basketball, they live near each other, and they both received the same letter. However, the way they responded to the letters was very different. Jonah didn't believe it was true, just some prank. But Chip freaked out, because he believed it was true. Also, their adoptions, to me, are very different. When Jonah was adopted, he was told. His family is close and spends a lot of time together. Meanwhile, Chip's parents kept the fact that he was adopted a secret. This to me shows that Chip doesn't really talk to his parents and that his parents aren't very open with him.

According to chapters one two and three, Chip and Jonah have similar interests and lives. Chip and Jonah both like basketball, are in the same grade, both don't no who there birth parents are, don't no where the from and both have revived a "You Are One of the Missing" letters. The differentiation's between Jonah's and Chip's adoption are that Jonah's parents let him no that he was adopted and Chip's parents didn't.

From my reading I know that Chip and Jonah are very similar in many ways, and different in many ways. A couple examples that Jonah and Chip are similar is that they both like basketball, they live on the same street, they are both in seventh grade, they both received one of the letters that states that they are one of the missing, neither of them know who their birth parents are, and they are both adopted. They think alike because they are about the same age and in the same grade. Their adoptions are different because Jonah's parents told him all about his adoption from the very beginning and will talk about his adoption whenever Jonah would like. Jonah's parents also seem to have a close relationship with their son. They seem like a very close family and that they will talk to each other openly. Chip's parents did the opposite. Chip found out that he was adopted as a baby when he was in the seventh grade. Chip doesn't have a good relationship with his parents. He seems like he won't be open to them and that they are a distant family, a family that never talks to each other. His parents also stated that they never want to talk about his adoption ever again. I know this because in the text it says, " My dad said-" Chip choked, swallowed hard, tried again,"- My dad said I didn't need to know anything else. He said he never wanted to talk about this again."

I also know that they around the same age because they are both in seventh grade. They both did receive the same letter, and live on the same street. They both have completely different families too. Jonahs family decided to tell him that he was adopted at a young age and told him everything that they knew about his adoption, but Chips family didn’t want to tell him at all and, never want to talk about it. 50. Chip and Jonah have a lot in common, such as they are both being adopted, but one major thing they don't have in common is their parents. For example Jonah's parents care a lot about how Jonah acts and love him very much, but Chip's parents seem to have very high demanding jobs and think that their jobs are more important than their very own son. Chip and Jonah also have very different opinions when it comes to the adoption process. In Chips mind his parents tricked him into being there son. In Jonahs mind his parents did it the right way by the book and that there is nothing wrong with being adopted. -Macray O'Neill

One way they are different is that Jonah has known about being adopted while Chip finds out in the third chapter. When Jonah received his letter saying, "you are one of the missing" he thought it was a prank. When Chip got the same letter as Jonah he also though it was a prank, this is another similarity. According to what I read Chip and Jonah have a lot in common. One is that they both play basketball and they were both adopted. I know this because according to the book in page 11 and 12 it said "You don't look much like your sister," Chip said, bouncing the basketball low against the driveway. Jonah waited to answer until he'd darted his hand in and stolen the basketball away. Chip and Jonah's adoptions differ because Jonah was told he was adopted from the beginning and Chip wasn't told he was adopted until he got the letter.

Chip and Jonah are the same because they both play basketball. In the book it says "Man, he said, you're going to make the basketball team for sure." and "Chip said bouncing the basketball low against the driveway." Another thing they have in common is they are both in seventh grade. They think different because Chip is a planner and Jonah is not. In the text it says, "But even if I make it in seventh and eighth grades, then there's high school to deal with. Whoa. And then there’s college, and being a grown-up.... It’s all pretty scary, don't you think? You forgot about planning you're funeral, Jonah said. What? You know if you're going to get all worried about being a grown-up you might as well figure out what’s going to happen when you're ninety years old and die. Personally Jonah didn't like to plan anything." Their adoptions are different because Jonah has known his whole life that he was adopted and Chip didn't. A few things that are similar about Jonah and Chip are that they both like to play basketball, they are both adopted, and they both got the strange letter that said that "you are one of the missing". A big difference between Chip and Jonah is the way that the feel about being adopted. Chip didn't know that he was adopted until he was in seventh grade when he got the same letter as Jonah did and asked his dad if he was adopted. Chip freaked out when he found out that he was adopted. Jonah had known that he was adopted from a young age so he didn't think it was a big deal.
So far, Chip has been the one who freaks out- like when he continued to ring the door bell after the door had been opened- while Jonah is more calm and tries to make Chip feel better- like when he told Chip that even though his parents were not his birth parents they are the ones who did things like change his diaper and teach him how to ride a bike.

  60. Chip and Jonah have a lot in common, first they both like to play basketball outside. The second reason is because they received a letter in the mail written on it had six typewritten words saying '' YOU ARE ONE OF THE MISSING''. The third reason is because they are both adopted but Chip didn't know that he was adopted till chapter three. They both have been adopted differently Chip didn't know until he got a letter came in the mail. After he read the letter Chip remembered that Jonah got that same letter but he thought that he wasn't adopted. He takes a minute to think about it then he goes inside and still curious asks his dad ''Am I adopted?'' Chips dad confesses and admits that he is actually adopted! While Jonah was adopted and knew that he was adopted his whole entire life and Chip found out just recently. Chip has been thinking about it non-stop ever since and even knocked on the door in the middle of dinner just to talk about it.

Thing Jonah and chip have in common here that they both enjoyed playing basketball. most likely both where about the same age and went to the same middle school. There adoption are different. Chip and Jonah have a lot of similarities and differences, some of their similarities are that Chip and Jonah are both adopted and they both like playing basketball, they are both in 7th grade, they both were getting notes like "you are one of the missing" and when they both got the note they just assumed it was a prank. Though they are both adopted they both found out at different times like Jonah had known since he was a kid but Chip had just found out and was freaking out about the news. Another difference is that Chip's parents don't want to talk about Chip’s adoption, in the text it says “-my dad said I didn’t need to know anything else. He said he never wanted to talk about this again”. Jonah's parents are very open and will answer any of Jonah's questions, they even bought a couple of books to help with some of the teenage adoption questions. Jonah doesn’t think that adoption is a big deal but Chip thinks it is, for example when Chip first found out that he was adopted he ran to Jonah’s house and was ringing the doorbell even when the door was open.

In my opinion, Chip and Jonah think very differently from each other; for example, in chapter three, Jonah said to Chip, “Adoption is normal. It’s been part of human society for centuries.” Also, in chapter three, Chip said to Jonah, “Mom and Dad never told me anything! All this time I thought my parents were my real parents.” Jonah and Chip have a few things in common; first, they are both adopted, second, both boys are in the seventh grade, and third, the boys both like to play basketball. Chip and Jonah’s adoptions have differed because Chip didn’t know that he was adopted and Jonah knew he was adopted.

I think that Chip and Jonah think very, very differently. In chapter three, Jonah said that "Adoption is a completely normal thing, and that it has been happening for many years". In chapter three, the author stated that from Chips experience, his parents never told him that he was adopted, but for Jonah, they told him he was adopted and it was a wonderful thing. Their adoptions were very different for Chip's parents never told him he was adopted, and that he thought they were his real parents, by the sounds of it, Chips parents didn't want him to know, so they might have been ashamed of it. But for Jonah, they told him he was adopted and wasn't ashamed to say that. Chip and Jonah are a lot alike because they're both males, they're both in 7th grade, they both like Basketball, and they were both adopted.

I think that the way Jonah and Chip think is very different. The way Jonah thinks about adoption is that it's perfectly normal, I know this because in chapter 3 on page 32 he says that adoption is normal and that it has been apart of society for centuries. The way Chip thinks about it is that being adopted sucks, and that the people who adopt you are total strangers. I know this because in chapter 3 on page 31 he said that his parents were total strangers to him, after his dad said that Chip was adopted. All the ways they are alike are that they both like basket ball, they are both in 7th grade, and they were both adopted.

Based on what I read in chapter 2, I know that when Jonah received the letter, he assumed that it was a prank. But when Chip got it in the mail, he thought it was true, having seen Jonah get the letter earlier. Chip and Jonah have similarities and differences. For example, they both like playing basketball but Chip is worse at it then Jonah. Another example is their appearances. The book mentions that Chip has curly blonde hair. Earlier in the book it states, "and as a baby all that brown hair" they had different colored hair but both had curly hair. Their adoptions differed because even though they were both adopted, Jonah's parents told him he was adopted. Chip didn't know he was adopted until he asked his dad. However, just because they're both adopted doesn't mean they don't live their lives differently. One thing that is not the same among the two is how they're parents act about adoption. Chip's parents aren't too fond or very open about talking about adoption while Jonah's parents always try to talk to him and make him feel like he belongs. From my reading, I now understand the meaning of the first three chapters in the book, "The Missing Found" by Margret P. Haddix. I would like to start this off with how the boys are alike. Jonah and Chip are alike because they both are adopted and like to play basket ball. However, with similarities comes differences. The boys differed by Jonah knowing he's adopted, but Chip does not. Also, Jonah has a sibling whereas Chip does not.

Chip and Jonah are similar in many ways, for example, they both enjoy basketball, they both are in seventh grade, they both get creepy letters, and they both are adopted. Jonah is excellent at basketball though Chip could improve at the sport. The difference in the basketball skills was written in chapter one, page 16, states “it went in cleanly-the perfect shot.” it also states “Man,” he said “you are going to make the team for sure.” which is inferring that Jonah is really good at basketball, however, Chip was not so sure of his ability. They both think in very similar ways, for example they both got the letter that read “YOU ARE ONE OF THE MISSING”. Their reasoning for the letter was that it was a seventh grade prank. Lastly Chip and Jonah are similar by both being adopted. Jonah has always known that he was adopted and if he ever gets curious about his adoption he can ask questions, but Chip just found out and is not allowed to talk to his parents about being adopted. He is very curious and would love to know more.

Jonah thinks that his adoptions are simple or easy because he already knows that he is adopted and knows what to do, but for Chip it is very difficult because he didn't know that he was adopted "yet" and he panics when he finds out unlike Jonah he has no idea what he needs to do. What Chip and Jonah have in common is that they are both adopted, are both teenagers, got the same scary mysterious letter that said, "You are one of the Missing" in their mailbox and, they like playing basketball with each other almost every day before or after school. Chip and Jonah didn’t get the letters on the same day; they got it on different days. Evidence from the book: On page 20, Jonah got the letter and then on page 28, Chip had said he got the same letter as Jonah had got in the mail. Their adoptions are different in many ways because Jonah's parents talk about it all the time by giving him books and papers and Chip's family kept it a secret from him for thirteen years without saying one word about anything about Chip's adoption. When Chip asked his parents where he came from and why he wanted to know more they said they never ever want to talk about it again. Then Jonah never bothers asking his parents about his adoptions a lot because his parent mentions it every day ever since they adopted him because they say it was some sort of a miracle when they adopted him.

The way Jonah thinks about his adoption is very basic because he already knew that he was adopted. While the way Chip thinks about his adoption is difficult because he never knew that he was adopted. (Until his so-called father told him that he was adopted at the end of chapter 2.) The things that Chip and Jonah have in common are that they are both adopted, they both like to play basketball, and they got letters that say “You are one of the missing.” (Chip got the letter on page 28 and Jonah got the letter on page 20.), and they are both in seventh grade. How Jonah adoption differ from Chip adoption is because when Jonah young Jonah adopted parents kept saying the story that it would be years and years and years before they get a baby, then the call came out of the blue- The week before Christmas. (It says that on page 15.) And for Chip his family was keeping it a secret because they didn't think Chip was ready the know yet.

From my reading I know that both Chip and Jonah are adopted but they have very different opinions about it. Jonah’s parents told him that he was adopted when he was very little and he has always been okay with that. In fact he almost likes being adopted. Chip just recently learned that he was adopted, and is mad at his parents for not telling him sooner.

In my opinion, Jonah thinks peacefully and maturely. In the text Jonah thought maturely when Chip told Jonah that he was adopted, he reacted calmly and talked to Chip. Jonah thinks peacefully about his adoption. Jonah thinks of his adoption not as a big deal because he has known about his adoption for a long time. This makes Jonah a peaceful thinker cause he has excepted his adoption and the different reasons his parents may had to abandon him. To support my explanation according to the text The Missing Found, " I told you I was adopted- why didn't you tell me?" " I didn't know !" Chip exploded. His whole face turned red. "Mom and dad never told me anything! All this time I thought my parents were my real parents-- "
" They're still your real parents, " Jonah corrected automatically. " In my opinion Jonah thinks rashly and without a filter. In the text, Chip thought rashly near the end of the chapters when Chip found out that he was adopted. He went to Jonah's house and freaked out and wondered why his parents abandoned him. To support this claim, According to the text The Missing Found, " I didn't know !" Chip exploded. His whole face turned red. "Mom and dad never told me anything! All this time I thought my parents were my real parents-- " "Chip thought without a filter when he asked Jonah if Jonah could date his sister since they weren't related by blood. Chip and Jonah have a lot in common for example that they both are boys that are in seventh grade and they both were adopted. Chip and Jonah's adoptions are different because Jonah has known about his adoption, and Chip just has learned about his adoption.
